Filter, But Verify: What Monitoring Air Quality at Two Major Industry Expos Taught Us About IAQ
When it comes to indoor air quality (IAQ), airflow and filtration are the twin engines that drive performance—but how do you know they’re actually working?
TelosAir recently put this question to the test during two major industry expos, AHR in Las Vegas and FiltXPO in Miami. Using our Duet sensors to monitor real-time data on particles, CO₂, temperature, and VOCs, we gained valuable insight into how even well-designed HVAC systems perform under pressure.
What we found confirms a growing truth in the IAQ space: maintaining comfortable temperature and humidity isn’t enough. CO₂ and particulate levels rose significantly during both events, particularly in Miami, where lower air exchange rates and increased human activity led to higher exposure risk.
The takeaway?
Better filtration and more airflow aren’t mutually exclusive—but verifying performance with real-time sensing is the only way to know if your system is truly delivering healthy air.
